Liberty High School Mission and Vision Statement  

Vision Statement:

Liberty High School will empower students to be confident in their ability to pursue knowledge and post-secondary success, maturing into responsible community members.

 

Mission Statement:

(what are we doing) 

We will prepare students to be life-long learners through research-based practices and an integrated system of support. Within a safe and supportive environment, we provide relevant and rigorous education and postsecondary planning to equip students for success in high school and beyond.

We will provide our diverse student population with the tools to be responsible, collaborative, and productive individuals by upholding Lion PRIDE (Presence, Respect, Integrity, Determination, Equity). 

 

Critical Learner Needs:

  • Improve high school graduation rates and postsecondary planning 
  • Improve teacher-student relationships 
  • Communicate reasoning in writing and speaking 
  • Create a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) for attendance, behavior, academics, and wellness 
  • Regularly review data in Professional Learning Communities (PLC) and staff meetings 
  • Increase student connection to LHS 

 

Student Learner Outcomes 

 Liberty High School graduates have the skills to do the following:

  • Read and analyze academic text effectively, making a claim and supporting it with evidence. 
  • Communicate reasoning effectively in writing and when speaking.  
  • Think critically and solve problems. 
  • Create a high school graduation plan to achieve their postsecondary goals. 
  • Take personal accountability for their actions. 
  • Advocate for themselves to achieve their goals. 
  • Respect themselves and others. 
  • Build at least one supportive relationship with a caring adult. 
  • Contribute responsibly and productively to the community.

Advanced Placement Courses

LUHSD offers 29 Advanced Placement (AP) courses across its high schools, providing students with the opportunity to take college-level courses while still in high school. These courses cover a wide range of subjects, from sciences and mathematics to humanities and arts. Participating in AP courses can significantly benefit college-bound students by allowing them to earn college credits, enhance their college applications, and develop the skills needed for college-level coursework.
